I love being busy but with school, work, and running to Cincinnati for Mike’s biometrics, it’s been a long one already! Looking forward to getting a full three days off next week to enjoy the holiday. Right now I’m enjoying a tea latte and doing some laundry, before running off to work. I picked up an adorable cup and saucer last month at Coffee Times last month. It’s quickly become my mug of choice when I want tea, although I like alternating it with a hand thrown mug I bought a few years ago at the Woodland Art Festival. The teapot is also a find from Coffee Times.
I know we’re into the second week but I’m still trying to decide which yarn to use for the WendyKnits’ shawl. I think by the time I chose the yarn, the whole event is going to be over!
Hope you all have a great Thursday!
I wanted to take a few minutes to mention my mom’s blog Antiques from France. She travels to France a couple of times a year to buy amazing antiques and brings them back to California to sell. As my stepfather would say, “What a life!” She has a beautiful house outside of Bordeaux in a tiny village. I’ve been lucky enough to go with her twice on these trips and it’s truly amazing. Her village is so quiet and peaceful and so different from the fast paced life most of us lead. In her blog, she discusses life in France and her travels around the beautiful countryside of the Dordogne, her crafting and interesting finds she’s discovered at the brocantes. In the future I’ll be posting about my past two trips with her to France.
Anyone participating in the WendyKnits Summer Solstice Knit Along?! This is my second year (out of two!) and last year I knit my shawl out a beautiful Socks that Rock color called Happy Go Lucky. I have the first part of the pattern but I’ve yet to decide what I’m actually going to knit it out of. I’m slacking this year due to a project of my own I’ve been working on. Once I had it under control, I’ll pick a yarn and cast on.
Right now I’m also working on the Tosh Purse. It’s worked up in cute little triangles and is perfect for stopping and starting when necessary. I’m doing it in Cherry Tree Hill Supersock Limited Edition Silent Night and I just love how it’s coming out so far.
I’m planning on cranking out a lot of knits this summer! I’m really enjoying a couple of the things I’ve been working on that I’ve designed myself and I can’t wait to share them with the rest of the world. Since I don’t have any knitting photos ready to share, I’ll leave you with a glimpse of our froyo date from the other night.
I’ve been cleaning up the blog a bit because I *gasp* actually tend to use it! Even though work and class are going to take up a lot of my summer, I really plan on using this space as much as I can. I’ve got a lot of exciting things in the works and I plan to share them here!
