Old website and a new blanket

The Website News

You may recall at the end of 2022, I tried to upgrade the PHP on my website, which failed, and then ended up deleting my entire website. After playing with my backup for the site for longer than I had time for, I’m calling it. I used to be good at WordPress and the backend stuff. Admittedly, there’s not much I can do with corrupted backups. I may try again in the summer, but I still have some hope of saving it.

New Blanket Crochet Goodness

I got bit by the crochet bug again this year after I saw the adorable join-as-you-go blanket that Emma C Makes (YouTube link) showed on her YouTube channel and Instagram. Full disclosure, my yarn and hook were ready to go when I clicked play, and after a terrible first attempt, I ripped it out and tried again. I LOVE it, and it matches so well with the rest of my blanket WIPs. It’s already about four times the size and it’s addictive!

The Sock Bug is Back

I finished my January Desert Vista Dyeworks Socks on time! They’re adorable and the perfect shade of pink. Can you believe it’s already the 13th and my February socks aren’t cast on yet? The yarn is and has been in a tangled mess since late 2017, so I’ve been untangling it. My DVD stash has dwindled over the years and I need to place a new order. I have enough DVD yarn to get through May, but I’ll likely be ordering in March or April to give it time to get here. My January pair was my own So Vanilla Socks on 9-inch-Circs recipe and knit out of Desert Vista Dyeworks Yarn Viso in Zompiglet.

Design Releases

Lastly, I published a pattern this month! It was the final pattern in the Deeds Not Words Sock Club and I called it the Liberty Steps Socks in honor of Lucy Stone. It’s a fun knit and draws loose inspiration from sock patterns from around the turn of the 20th century.

Stay tuned later this week, when I show the entire Deeds Not Words collection. Happy knitting!
